YOUR PRIVACY

Privacy Policy

We respect your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect on this site, how we use it and what rights you have over it.

Last updated: 4 September 2026

The data controller is Igreja da Cidade Luanda, in Luanda, Angola. For any privacy question — including access, correction or deletion — write to contacto@igrejadacidadeluanda.org, which is also the contact of the data protection officer.

We collect only the data you send us voluntarily:

  • Testimony form: full name, phone and email (optional), story, approximate date, category, photo or video (optional), contact preference and publication consent.
  • Contact and request forms: name, email and message.
  • Minimum technical operating data (for example, admin session and security logs).
  • To answer your requests and messages.
  • To receive, moderate and — only with your express consent — publish testimonies.
  • To manage the activities and communication of the church.
  • To keep the site secure and prevent abuse.

When submitting a testimony you explicitly choose between authorising publication on the official channels of the church or allowing internal use only. Nothing is published without that choice.

Even with authorisation, every testimony goes through moderation: only what is approved becomes publicly visible. You may withdraw consent at any time via the email above.

We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing. Data is stored on our database platform (Convex, on secure cloud infrastructure outside Angola). By submitting the form, you consent to this international transfer, necessary to provide the service; you may request information about the safeguards applied via the email above.

Attachments remain private and only become accessible after approval and publication consent.

We keep data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described. Rejected testimonies are automatically deleted, with their attachments, 180 days after the decision. If you request deletion, we remove your personal data and attachments within a reasonable time, except where the law requires otherwise.

You have the right to request, free of charge:

  • Access to the data we hold about you.
  • Correction of incorrect or outdated data.
  • Deletion of your data and attachments.
  • Withdrawal of publication consent.

The form requires confirmation that you are 18 or older, or that your parent or guardian authorises the submission. Testimonies from minors without that authorisation are removed during moderation.

We explain in detail in our Cookie Policy which cookies we use and how you can manage them.

We may update this page when needed. The date at the top always shows the latest version.
